The Kano State House of Assembly has been thrown into mourning following the sudden deaths of two of its members, Aminu Ungoggo and Sarki Daneji, who passed away within hours of each other on Wednesday.
The Assembly confirmed the development in separate statements, describing the loss as shocking and devastating to the legislature and the people they represented.
Aminu Ungoggo and Sarki Daneji were serving lawmakers at the Kano State House of Assembly before their deaths, which occurred barely hours apart, leaving colleagues and constituents in deep grief.
Speaker of the House and other members expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, noting that both lawmakers contributed significantly to legislative activities and the development of their constituencies.
The Assembly observed a moment of silence in their honour, while tributes continued to pour in from government officials, political leaders, and residents of the state.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by their respective families.
