Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the National Assembly, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The lawmaker is scheduled to complete her registration with the party on Thursday at the ADC national headquarters in Wuse, Abuja.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday by her media aide, Kennedy Mbele. According to the statement, Senator Kingibe’s decision marks her formal exit from the Labour Party (LP) and her entry into the ADC.
Mbele noted that the move signals a new political chapter for the FCT senator as she aligns with the ADC in preparation for the forthcoming electoral contests.
