The Nigerian Senate has suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months, effective March 6, 2025, following recommendations from the Ethics and Public Petitions Committee.
As part of the suspension terms, Akpoti-Uduaghan must issue a written apology before resuming her duties. Her office will remain locked throughout the suspension, with all official property surrendered.
Additionally, she is barred from accessing the National Assembly complex and will be stripped of her salaries, allowances, and security details. The Senate has also prohibited her from representing herself as a Nigerian senator in local and international media during the suspension period.
