The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced the suspension of the previously scheduled local government elections initially set for August 9, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, the commission confirmed that the elections will now be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025. RSIEC did not immediately provide reasons for the change in date.
