The Rivers State Government has attributed the fire that engulfed a section of the State Secretariat on Monday evening to an electrical fault.
The Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, disclosed this in a statement issued shortly after the fire was brought under control.
According to Dr. Brown, preliminary findings indicated that the incident resulted from an electrical malfunction within the affected section of the complex.
As earlier reported, parts of the Secretariat were engulfed in flames this evening, prompting a swift response from firefighters who successfully contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to other buildings.
