Civil Servants in Rivers State, have started receiving the new N85,000 minimum wage recently approved by Governor, Sim Fubara.
Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Service Union, Chukwuka Osuma made this known in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
According to him, they were in a meeting with Chairman of the State Civil Service and went through the salary chart before it was implemented Today.
He revealed that workers started receiving the new amount today, as more will receive in the coming days.
As you may know, Gov. Sim Fubara few weeks ago announced N85,000 as new minimum wage for workers, higher than the N70,000 fixed by the federal government.
