Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Alabo George-Kelly, has resigned from Governor Sim Fubara’s
cabinet, for a second time.

In a letter dated 15 March 2024 and addressed to the Governor, George-Kelly said his resignation is to allow him
take up an appointment by President Bola Tinubu as the new Director-General of the Border
Communities Development Agency.

He however appreciated the Governor for the opportunity to served Rivers State as Rivers State
Commissioner for Works.

As you may know, Alabo George-Kelly is an ally of the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike, and had served as
his Commissioner for Works when he was Governor.
