Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor formally received his APC membership card during a stakeholders’ meeting held in the state, marking his entry into the ruling party.
The meeting was attended by top APC leaders and chieftains, including former Plateau State Governor and Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Lalong; Senator Diket Plang; and a member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, among others.
Mutfwang’s defection is expected to have significant political implications for Plateau State, as it reshapes the state’s political alignment ahead of future elections.
Details of the governor’s reasons for joining the APC were not immediately disclosed at the time of filing this report.
