Abuja — The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially recognized Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the party’s substantive National Secretary, directing the National Working Committee (NWC) to swear him in without delay.
The decision was reached during an emergency meeting held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The board’s resolution followed the adoption of a committee report led by Barr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, which aligned with a High Court of Enugu ruling upheld by the Court of Appeal.
In a statement delivered by BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, the board emphasized that no superior court had issued a contrary ruling, making the decision final and binding.
The BoT called on all party organs and stakeholders to comply with the Court of Appeal’s directive and reiterated its constitutional authority to uphold discipline within the party.
The board also commended the scheduling of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for March 13, 2025, hailing it as a significant step for the party’s future.
