The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt has announced the passing of its presiding pastor and mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene, who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
According to a statement issued by Pastor Sola Akinwale on behalf of the church, Pastor Ene returned to Nigeria after a successful and extensive ministry trip marked by miracles and testimonies but experienced a sudden health crisis while in Lagos.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our presiding pastor, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene,” the statement read.
Describing her as “a woman of great faith who lived and believed the Word of God till the very end,” the church said Pastor Ene dedicated her life to serving God and humanity, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and selfless service.
“As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds while we process this shocking news, we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is good and His mercies endure forever,” the church stated, adding that she has now heard the words of her Master: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’.
The Carpenter’s Church urged members to embrace, comfort, and encourage one another during this difficult time, particularly Pastor Ene’s husband, Bro. Emeka Ene, and their daughters—Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi. The church also extended prayers to her mother, Ma. Mercy Chijioke, and her siblings.
“We look up to and lean on the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to strengthen us. Despite the void of her departure, we are grateful to God for an excellent and productive life well lived,” Pastor Akinwale said.
The church described Pastor Ene as “one of the great generals of God in our generation—one who lived and taught the undiluted Word of God, danced with the Holy Spirit, and by precept and example taught others to do the same.”
Her life and ministry, the church added, will continue to inspire believers around the world.
“The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever. We celebrate God’s general, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Mrs. Nkechinyere Ene,” the statement concluded.

This is sad! May her beautiful soul find rest in God’s bosom
