Kabiru Turaki, former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, has been elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Turaki emerged on Saturday at the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He was the sole contender for the position and secured 1,516 votes following the withdrawal of Lado Danmarke, the PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate in Katsina State.
Turaki now takes over the leadership of the main opposition party as it prepares for future national political engagements.
