Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara is currently presenting the 2024 Appropriation Bill before the Rivers State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison-led House of Assembly in Government House, Port Harcourt.
Recall that a High Court on Tuesday recognised Ehie as the authentic Speaker of the House.
The House before the arrival of the governor, declared the seats of all 27 lawmakers who recently defected to the APC vacant in line with section 109 (1) and (2) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.
The House also resolved to communicate to the Independent National Electoral Commission on the vacant seats, and a need to conduct fresh elections to fill up the vacant positions.
