The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that Nigerians will start to pay stamp duty on house rents and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), in line with its new adhesive duty.
This is part of measures to generate more revenue for the commission and the nation.
Director for Communication and Liaison Department, Mr Abdullahi Ahmad made this known to news correspondents in Abuja.
He said the new FIRS adhesive stamp was introduced at the official inauguration of the inter-ministerial committee on audit and recovery of back years stamp duties.
