The Federal Government has secured the release of 100 pupils who were abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
TVC News and Channels Television reported the development on Sunday, although federal authorities had yet to issue an official statement as of press time.
The pupils were taken after gunmen invaded the remote community on November 21, arriving on motorbikes around 2 a.m. and operating for nearly three hours before fleeing with the children. Authorities say further details on the rescue are expected soon.
