A Rivers State High Court has terminated the tenure of Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron as the Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The court also invalidated the positions of all local government and ward chairmen who were elected during the congresses organized by supporters of Nyesom Wike in 2024.
Justice Stephen Jumbo, in his ruling, declared the ward, local government, and state congresses legally baseless and void from the start.
This ruling represents another blow to the political allies of Chief Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It comes on the heels of a similar decision last year when Chief Tony Okocha, the Rivers APC Chairman, was removed by the court.
