A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has reportedly nullified the passage of the Rivers State 2024 Budget By the Hon. Edison Ehie-led House of Assembly.
Recall that Ehie and three other members of the House had passed the budget after Gov. Sim Fubara presented it before them.
However, Justice James Omotoso in his ruling Today, ordered the State Governor, Sim Fubara to represent the budget to the legally constituted House of Assembly under the Speakership of Martin Amaewhule.
The court also restrained Gov. Fubara from frustrating the House of Assembly under Amaewhule from sitting or interfering in the affairs of the House and declared null and void the redeployment of the Clerk and the Deputy Clerk done by the Governor.
It also directed the governor to release all monies meant for the Assembly and directed the Police to provide adequate security for the assembly members.
