PRESS RELEASE
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, RIVERS STATE CHAPTER RE-ELECT AMB. CHIJIOKE IHUNWO AS THE CHAIRMAN FOR ANOTHER FOUR YEARS
In keeping with section 10 of the 2016 Bye law of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Rivers State chapter as amended, the Body in it’s General Congress held on the 20th day of November 2023, resolved as follows:
1. Through a resolution by a motion moved by Mr. Adokiye Mujiton and supported by Engr Engr Ken Aliba Jnr followed with a voice vote resolved that His Youthfulness, Amb Amb Ihunwo Chijioke, having done well in the past four (4) years should come back for another tenure of four (4) years starting from December 4th, 2023.
2. We hereby pass a vote of confidence on the Executive Governor of Rivers State His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and resolved to continue to support his administration.
2. We call on the Commissioner of Police Rivers State to be neutral and professional in all his dealing in Rivers State and assured the Rivers State Police Command of the support of Rivers youths in the provision of useful information that will enable them seamlessly carry out their responsibility.
4. That Rivers youths will resist any attempt to arrest the Youth Council Chairman with trump charge because of his support for the Governor of Rivers State.
5. NYCN also declares one Hon. Afoji Igwe as an enemy of Rivers youths and if anything happens to Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo himself and cohorts held responsible.
6. We equally supports the leadership of Rt Hon Ehie Edison as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and condemn the attack by some security operatives in his house.
7. Finally, we call on the Rivers youths to remain calm, resolute and law abiding.
