Suspected bandits have kidnapped a 16-year-old boy and six young girls during a late-night attack in Gidan-Bijimi, a community in Kawu Ward of Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The attackers, reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles, invaded two homes around 9:47 p.m., seizing the victims—who were said to be in the community to attend a funeral. The abducted girls are believed to be between 17 and 23 years old.
Gidan-Bijimi lies close to the border between the FCT and Kaduna State, sharing boundaries with the neighbouring Marke village. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The Police is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
