The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, ruling that the Senate acted within its constitutional authority in taking the disciplinary action.
In a unanimous decision delivered on Monday, a three-member panel of the appellate court determined that the suspension of the Kogi Central lawmaker over alleged misconduct did not violate her constitutional rights or parliamentary privileges.
The court concluded that the Senate’s action fell within its established powers to regulate its internal proceedings and discipline members when necessary.
