Former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has resigned as the Minister of Transportation.
The resignation of the Presidential hopeful, was confirmed in a tweet by the UK handle of the All Progresssives Congress.
“Nigeria’s Minister of #Transportation, HM Chibuike R. Amaechi [@ChibuikeAmaechi] has resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to focus on his Presidential Campaign.
“Thank you for your service to Nigeria,” it wrote.
Amaechi’s resignation is inline with the directive by President, Muhammadu Buhari for all appointees with political ambitions to resign on or before May 16 2022.
Amaechi becomes the third Minister to resign from his position, after Emeka Nwajuiba, Minister of State for Education and Sen. Godswill Akpabio.
