The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has denied saying that honourable members of the ninth assembly were awarded 60 percent of the contracts awarded by the commission.
Akpabio’s response is coming after the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila announced the house has engaged lawyers to sue Akpabio for pejury.
Femi Gbajabiamila, who disclosed the content of the letter on the floor of the house Today, said Akpabio claimed to have referred to old contracts awarded by the commission. Some of the contracts according to Senator Akpabio were part of lawmakers’ constituency projects.
The minister had claimed that lawmakers were the greatest beneficiaries of contracts awarded by the commission while appearing before the investigative panel of the house few days ago.
