A former lawmaker, Philip Tanimu Aduda, has formally resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing ongoing internal challenges within the party.
In a resignation letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the party chairman of Karu Ward in Abuja, Aduda said his decision takes immediate effect due to what he described as a crisis in the party.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party,” the letter read.
Despite his exit, the former senator expressed appreciation to the PDP for the opportunity to serve in various elective positions, noting that he remains grateful for the platform the party provided during his political career.
Aduda an ally of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike represented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Senate across the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Assemblies from 2011 to 2023.
The letter was acknowledged at the ward level, with a handwritten note indicating that the original copy was received by the Karu PDP Ward Chairman.
His resignation adds to a series of developments reflecting internal tensions within the PDP ahead of future political activities.
