A Chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, Emmanuel Bethel Ogolo has reacted to the war of words between Governor, Nyesom Wike and the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
Ogolo in a statement said the action is capable of heating up the polity unnecessarily, and that Rivers people do not need a repeat of what happened in the state in the build up to the 2015 general election.
He called on both gladiators to borrow a leaf from Sen. Magnus Abe who is going about preaching peace, tolerance and politics of inclusion.
His statement reads,
The war of words between Gov Wike and former Gov Amaechi is capable of heating up the polity unnecessarily and as a Rivers youth, l appeal that they shouldn’t do anything that will cause any crisis before, during, and after the 2023 general election in Rivers State.
We don’t need a repeat of what happened in the state in the build up to the general election in 2015 that led to the loss of lives and properties of the people. Not anymore!
We need a peaceful election in Rivers State.
I further appeal that they should borrow a leaf from Sen Magnus Abe the SDP Governorship Candidate in the state, who is going about preaching peace, tolerance, politics of inclusion, devoid of hate, and focusing more on issues that will add value to governance for the good of Rivers State and all her good people.
