In a bid to provide economic relief to small and medium-scale businesses, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has ordered the suspension of all revenue collection from lock-up shops, markets, pharmacies, and petty businesses until further notice.
Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo, Chief Press Secretary of the council made this known in a statement.
He said the directive also instructs that Lock-Up Shops and Market Management Committees should cease any form of revenue collection with immediate effect.
He stated that the initiative underscores the Council Chairman’s commitment to stimulating local economic growth and easing the cost of living for residents, particularly as the festive season approaches.
