Bonny Local Government Chairman, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has approved an increase in the monthly stipends of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) and the Bonny Employment Monitoring Team from ₦500,000 to ₦2 million.
Pepple announced the decision during a meeting with the two bodies on Monday, September 9, at the Council Secretariat, where he reviewed their operations and discussed strategies to boost employment opportunities in the area.
He said the increment was aimed at strengthening their capacity and encouraging greater commitment to tackling unemployment challenges.
“Employment remains a critical challenge for our people. I believe in the capacity of this BIRC and the Monitoring Team to deliver. This upward review of stipend is to encourage focus and dedication as we work together to create jobs for our people,” Pepple stated.
The council boss also stressed the need for synergy between both groups, assuring that his administration is committed to initiatives that will generate sustainable jobs for Bonny residents.
Present at the meeting were BIRC Secretary Gladden Dan Jumbo, Monitoring Team Chairman Michael Pepple, Vice Chairman Israel Jumbo, Secretary of Council Engr. Tamunotonye Adolphus Jumbo, and Chief of Staff Engr. Soparagha Jumbo.
