The Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon Anengi Barasua Claude-Wilcox JP., today led government officials to participate in the April sanitation excercise where she supervised the level of compliance by residents and ensured sanitation marshals and vendors were on top of their game in evacuating dump sites and major drainages across the length and breadth of the Island with a view to give free course to water channels as the raining season sets in.
The LGA Boss who observed and frowned at the general poor turnout by residents which necessitated the withdrawal of community based prizes, particularly took notice of the trio of; Vincent Okafor, Victor James and Hope Francis who despite the rain this morning got drenched while working to clean their environments around Sandfilled axes. Moved by their patriotism, the Executive Chairman afterwards gifted each of them with the sum of 20,000 naira as a way of encouraging their sacrifice, while advising guardians to warn their wards against street football during subsequent sanitation exercises.
