The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple on Friday met with trained fire service technicians as the council finalizes plans for the commencement of full operations at the Bonny Fire Station.
The fire station, which is currently undergoing renovation, is nearing completion. Chairman Pepple assured that all necessary arrangements are being concluded to ensure a smooth operational launch aimed at strengthening emergency response and safeguarding lives and property across Bonny.
As part of the readiness measures, the Chairman disclosed that the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) has approved a one-week refresher training for previously trained fire service personnel, to further enhance their operational capacity ahead of deployment.
He also revealed that the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including coveralls, safety boots, hard hats, and other essential safety gear, is in progress to ensure that personnel are fully equipped for duty.
Fire Chief Mr. Adonye C. Allison expressed gratitude to the Chairman for his steadfast support toward the successful establishment of the fire station.
The Chairman reaffirmed that making the fire station operational forms a key part of his administration’s 100-day achievements, with full backing from the Bonny Local Government Council.
