…..TO COMMEMCE DISTRIBUTION OF FG’s GARRI AND MAIZE PALLIATIVE, LGA’S ADDITION
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon Anengi Barasua Claude-Wilcox, DSSRS, JP., has credited over 500 residents of Bonny with the sum of 50,000 naira as part of efforts towards cushioning the hardship and economic situation that Nigeria is currently experiencing.
Recall that the Council Boss had distributed 10 mini-buses, sewing machines and business grant ranging from N300,000 to N500,000 during an empowerment program held on June 16th, 2024, less than two months ago. On July 6th, Nigeria’s Firstlady’s palliative for women was distributed with supporting cash of 10,000 naira to each of all beneficiaries as well.
Interestingly, the CTC Chairman in her proactive disposition has successfully exchanged the 540 bags of Federal Government Maize (dried corn) with 840 cartons of Noodles given that Maize is not a routine meal of Bonny people.
In addition and further to her determination to deepen the impact of the palliative distribution, the CTC Chairman has as well gone ahead to impressively procure 200 bags of rice to add to the exchanged 840 cattons of Noodles and 108 bags of garri from the Federal Government which is set for distribution in the coming days.
Worthy of emphasis is the fact that the 50,000 naira cash palliative was a sole project of the Bonny Local Government Council (sponsored by Bonny LGA) with beneficiaries drawn from the nomination of Religious Organisations, Civil Society Organisations, the Traditional Institution, Trade Unions amongst others.
Accordingly, the CTC Chairman urges all beneficiaries of the cash palliative to make the best use of the token while assuring of her commitment to always stand on the side of the people as exemplified by the Governor of Rivers State, Amaopusenibo, Sir, Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, as more empowerment programmes will be unveiled in Bonny in the coming weeks.
However, those whose names appear on the attached list but are yet to receive their payments due to system glitches or poor network are urged to quickly call 08165475019 for immediate harmonisation and payment.
