The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has announced a ₦200 million SME Business Grant Scheme set to launch in 2026, aimed at boosting youth entrepreneurship and economic growth across the LGA.
He made the announcement on Thursday while hosting leaders of the influential online community, Bonny Youths 360, at the Government Lodge. The group, led by its founder, Tamunoforiokuma Tobin (popularly known as Reddman Awanta), met with the Chairman to discuss key developmental issues affecting Bonny.
Pepple reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development and collaboration, noting that the grant scheme will support young business owners, enhance productivity, and widen livelihood opportunities. He added that the local government is open to partnerships that drive sustainable development.
Reddman Awanta, speaking on behalf of the group, commended the Chairman for being the first LG leader to meaningfully engage Bonny Youths 360 on youth-focused governance. He highlighted that the platform, founded on March 31, 2015, has grown to over 13,000 organic followers dedicated to supporting initiatives that foster progress in the LGA. He pledged the group’s continued support for policies that strengthen youth inclusion and development.
