Bonny Local Government Chairman, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has announced a ₦10,000 monthly stipend for all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the area and approved the construction of a new 12-unit self-contained Corps Members’ Lodge.
The announcement was made during an interactive session with Corps members at the Bonny Council Conference Hall on Wednesday.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Corps members and announced the appointment of Mr. Israel Anienfon Eshiet as Special Adviser to the Chairman on NYSC Affairs, a role designed to sustain engagement between the Council and the NYSC for effective resolution of Corps-related issues.
Pepple further revealed plans to construct a modern 12-room Corps Members’ Lodge, renovate existing facilities, and provide 100 mattresses to enhance comfort and security for serving Corps members.
The Chairman urged Corps members to remain exemplary ambassadors of the NYSC and active contributors to the progress and development of Bonny communities.
