Alabo (Hon) Boma Iyaye has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that he has declared interest in the Rivers State governorship race and secured endorsement from the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
In a press statement, Iyaye described the claims as inaccurate and not reflective of his current position.
The Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Niger Delta Development Commission clarified that he has not made any formal declaration regarding a governorship ambition, nor has he received endorsement from Wike or any other individual.
He emphasized that his focus remains on his responsibilities at the Commission, where he is actively working with leadership and stakeholders to advance sustainable development across the Niger Delta region.
“I wish to respectfully clarify that these reports are inaccurate and do not reflect the true position,” he stated.
Iyaye, however, expressed respect for the FCT Minister, acknowledging his leadership and contributions to public service.
He further urged members of the public and media practitioners to rely on verified information and disregard unconfirmed reports regarding his political intentions.
