My heart was heavy during my condolence visit to them at Amariaria Fishing Settlement in Bonny earlier today.
I sympathised with them, assuring that my thought and prayers would always be with them, and I am open to unhindered communication with them, while expressing hopes that God will graciously heal the broken hearted.
I also conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the the immediate-past Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, the Rt Hon Ehie Edison, DSSRS, PhD, who is pained by the unfortunate occurrence.
The visit afforded me the opportunity to commit to sponsoring the education of most affected children of the 11 victims of the boat mishap from now till their University levels.
I as well, donated N500,000 to the immediate families of the victims, just as Amaopusenibo Fubara Hart, Amaopuorubo Helen Jack-Wilson Pepple and Amasenibo Christopher Hart all donated N500,000, N300,000 and N100,000 respectively in support of the grieving families.
