A bill for the creation of Orlu State has passed first reading in the House of Representatives.
The bill is being sponsored by the member representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, and others.
The creation of Orlu State will alter the amended 1999 Constitution, and increase the number of states in the federation to 37.
The Orlu state will be carved out from Anambra, Abia and Imo states.
