The Rivers State Police Command has warned ladies to be wary of online relationships.
Spokesperson of the Command, DSP. Grace Iringi-Koko gave the warning in a statement in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
This was while revealing that two suspects identified as Ikechi promise and Darlington Obi from Etche local government area were arrested for running an online dating syndicate by operatives of the C4i unit in Choba on January 6th 2023.
She said the suspects lured a lady from Iwofe to Igwuruta market on the 20th of December and Kidnapped her to Chokocho pipeline, rapped her and collected her three mobile phones.
She disclosed that the suspects also collected a ransom of N600,000 from her relatives before she was released two days later.
DSP. Grace also said they are searching for other fleeing members of the gang.
