TAI, Rivers State – May 13, 2025: The Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to demonstrate unwavering patriotism and commitment as they prepare to begin their primary assignments across the state.
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government and NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area, Ibas urged members of the 2025 Batch A, Stream I to embrace their one-year national service with dedication and integrity.
“Your service is an opportunity to leave lasting legacies in your host communities. Approach your assignments with commitment, innovation, and a genuine desire to make a difference,” he charged the corps members during the closing ceremony of their three-week orientation.
The NYSC Coordinator in Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, echoed the call for excellence, stating that corps members will be deployed to key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development. He expressed confidence in their readiness to make meaningful contributions and meet the expectations of their host communities.
The orientation, which marked the beginning of a mandatory year of national service for Nigerian graduates, concluded with a reaffirmation of the NYSC’s mission to foster unity and development through youth engagement and community service.
