A Socio-political group, known as the Movement for Good Governance in Nigeria, MGGN has warned former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to be wary of governor Nyesom of Rivers State.
National President of the group, Nwaonyeche Thankgod in a statement shortly after Atiku’s visit to Wike at Government House on Wednesday, said he should be very vigilant working with him.
He stated that the Governor places his political ambition above every other person even his political party.
He also explained that Wike worked closely with then President Goodluck Jonathan as a junior Minister of Education and was later made governor but today, he has distanced himself from him.
Part of the statement reads,
“The governor hijacked the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s National Chairmanship position after been zoned to the South, accusing the South Western members of a minor PDP zone. Later on, a Rivers son, Uche Secondus merged the National Chairman. But for a while, gov Wike has rained insults on Secondus.
“Due to the perceived ambition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contest President in 2023, Gov Wike has done everything humanly possible to unseat the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus whom he has serially accused of working with the Former Vice President.
“Yes, your party had declared you eligible to contest for president in 2023 but you must be very careful with characters like Nyesom Wike and Dino Melaye as their wills are usually supreme to them and they will not see you and change.
“A governor who has been sacking his cabinet members, embarrassing his party members including his National Chairman, owing pension and gratuities, among others would neither make a good running-mate nor a better front for you.
