Some business experts in Rivers State, have accused the state Ministry of Urban Development of collecting money to allow businesses at the Abacha Road axis of GRA in Port Harcourt.
The experts in a statement, accused officials of the ministry of distorting the original masterplan of the area.
They said the original plan did not include businesses in the area, but some officials of the ministry, connived with individuals to allow it.
One of them said, if the original plan was followed the issue of the ban on night clubs would not have arisen.
He commended the state government for taking a bold step to restoring the original plan, adding that activities of night club owners constitute nuisance in the area.
“The ministry of Urban development halted the original plan of the area. They allowed businesses when the original plan was not for business…,” he said.
