Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has welcomed Peter Obi into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as a significant moment in the history of political coalitions in Nigeria.
In a statement, Atiku expressed his pleasure at Obi’s official declaration into the party, calling it an opportunity to build a “robust working relationship” aimed at fostering a strong opposition. He emphasized that such collaboration could eventually lead to a government capable of delivering prosperity and peace to the people.
“At the official declaration of my brother and associate, Peter Obi, into the ADC, I am pleased to welcome him officially. We look forward to a robust working relationship that will foster a virile opposition, one that will ultimately form a government capable of bringing prosperity and peace to our people,” Atiku said.
He further urged other patriots to be inspired by the development, as the ADC coalition train departs from Enugu, the Southeast regional capital.
