The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the University of Port Harcourt has reacted to the directive of the state government to resume academic activities resume Monday, October 5, 2020.
Chairman of ASUU, Dr. Austen Sado in an interview yesterday said they will not be resuming academic activities on the said date because the union is still on strike.
Sado said the strike action would continue until the federal government heeds their demands.
“This strike was declared as at 23rd of March and as at today, no meeting has taken place. Government has not invited our union for any discussion and so nothing has changed. All the issues that necessitated the strike has remained the same,” he said.
