The Rivers State Police Command, says officers who allegedly assaulted a female journalist at the court premises in Port Harcourt, would be investigated and punished if found guilty.
State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday said this during a meeting with Crime correspondents at Moscow road in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
According to him, he has directed senior officers to investigate the matter and ensure that all those found wanting are brought to book.
He noted that the command has zero tolerance for human rightd abuses.
The CP also called for peace and cooperation between the Police and journalists for effective service delivery.
Recall that a female journalist, Anita Ogona was allegedly assaulted by some Police Officers while trying to cover court proceedings involving detained lawmaker, Farah Dagogo and the Rivers State Government.
