Following recent incident occasioned by incessant shooting of knockouts which nearly impacted on the relative peace in Buguma City, the Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George, DSSRS has banned the sales and use of all kinds of Fireworks, Firecrackers, and Knockouts in ASALGA.
The Chairman in a statement signed by the Honourable Supervisor for Information and Communications, John Paul Braide, urged all Asalgans and visitors to “embrace love and peace which are the core essence of the season and shun all forms of violence or any act that may negatively impact on the peaceful atmosphere in the LGA”.
He said the directive is part of a proactive move by the Security Council, which comprises all the Security Agencies in the LGA to “sustain the relative peace in ASALGA, and adequately contain crimes and criminality, particularly during this year’s Yuletide festivities”.
He further revealed that the Divisional Police Officers of Buguma and Abalama, the JTF Commander and other Heads of Security Agencies have been charged to carry out due enforcement of the ban and ensure that anyone who violates the order is arrested and brought to book.
Signed:
John Paul Braide
Honourable Supervisor,
Information & Communications,
Asari-Toru LGA.
