Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has condemned the confrontation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and some military officers over a disputed property in Abuja.
The incident occurred at Plot 1946, Gaduwa District, where a naval officer identified as A.M. Yerima, reportedly acting on the orders of a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awal Gambo (rtd), engaged Wike in a heated exchange and prevented him and officials of the FCT Administration from accessing the land.
Reacting in a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Dokubo described the officer’s conduct as unacceptable and urged military authorities to discipline him.
“I’m not taking sides with Wike; I’m taking sides with the law, the rule, and convention,” he said. “What happened yesterday, in any sane society, that person would be reprimanded and detained.”
