The Executive Chairman of Asari-toru Local Government Area – Hon. Onengiyeofori George yesterday visited the moribund and dilapidated Magistrate Court building in Buguma City.
The council in a statement said the visit was to evaluate and assess the state of the facility, and to determine the necessary steps to restore its functionality.
It said the visit signifies a significant step towards addressing the critical issue of the dilapidated Magistrate Court in Buguma, thereby recognizing the importance of a functional judicial system in the LGA.
This follows approval granted by the Chief Judge of Rivers state for the council to be rehabilitated.
