Veteran Rivers born musician, Arthur Pepple who sang the popular “Wike Dey Work” song has threatened legal actions against the state government over its continuous failure to pay him for his work five years after.
Pepple who sang to commemorate Governor Wike’s 100 days in office in 2015 said he is yet to get a dime for the song.
The singer who noted this in a statement yesterday said he has written to the governor and other relevant authorities on different occasions demanding for his money, all to no avail.
“If I was a militant, would the Rivers State Government refuse to pay me my money for a job well done? he asked.
“If I was from a certain tribe in Rivers State, would this Government refuse to pay me my money, 5yrs after a job well done? he added.
