A state of emergency has been declared at the Onne Port in Rivers State by the Federal Government following repeated seizure of illicit goods.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to him, there is an ongoing implementation of emergency protocols at the Port which includes, conducting thorough examinations of all suspected containers in the premises for the next three months.
