A councillorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic party in ward 6, Asari-Toru, Local Government Area, Mr. Ekine N. has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
Mr. Ekine, who is seeking to become the councilor of the ward in the forthcoming LG elections was kidnapped this evening.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at D/line, Port Harcourt.
Ekine’s abduction follows that of Mrs Hannah Alasomuka, a Councillor in Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area, who was kidnapped few weeks ago.
As at the time of filing this report, the state Police Command was yet to confirm the incident.
