Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Barr George Ariolu has approved the renovation of Obio/Akpor Hostel in Rivers State University.
Ariolu disclosed this during a visit by the leadership and stakeholders of the Post Graduate Student Association, Rivers State University Chapter, ably led by the President of the association, David Nelson Ordu, at the Executive Chambers of the Council Headquarters, Rumuodomoya on Wednesday.
He further stressed on the momentousness and unending values of Education. He affirmed that his administration will continue to impact positively on the people.
For his part, the President, David Nelson Ordu during an address on behalf of the Executives, thanked the council boss for the human capacity building and infrastructural development achieved by his administration.
He also commended the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the remarkable growth and attention he has given to Rivers State University.
In his vote of thanks, the immediate past President, Wokoma Harcourt, thanked the council boss for a warm reception, prayed that God Almighty should continue to guide, protect and give him more wisdom to continue to perform like his master, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
The high point of the visit was the Conferment of Award of Honour to the Council Chairman in HUMAN CAPACITY BUILDING AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT.
