Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government council, Hon. Barr George Ariolu DSSRS, today presented a brand new Saxophone to an illustrious Obio/Akpor daughter, Miss Jenifer Mgbechi Okocha

Miss Jennifer Okocha, a native of Rukpakwolusi Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area is a Saxophonist and an ardent supporter of the People’s Democratic Party in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Hon. Ariolu while presenting the Saxophone to her; said that the procurement of the musical instrument is in line with his administration’s focal thrust which is human capacity development to enable her to continue showcasing her skills and talent.

He said that it is also to encourage her and other young Obio/Akpor sons and daughters to focus in their skills and talents. The Council Boss congratulated her and wished her well in her future endeavours.

On her part, Miss Jennifer Okocha appreciated the Chairman for his support and encouragement which has made a significant impact in her life.

“Playing the saxophone is my passion. When I started playing, most people discouraged me because I am a woman but I continued playing. I have been unable to play for a while now because my saxophone was bad. But today… you have not only put smiles on my face but you have empowered me. Thank you for your numerous human capacity development, posterity will be kind to you.”
