Lawmaker representing Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere has reacted to the Appeal Court ruling in the Rivers State House of Assembly tussle.

Ugochinyere in a statement on Friday, said with the ruling Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo remains Speaker of the State Assembly.

According to him, the court refused to grant all prayers sought by Martin Amaewhule which includes; recognizing himself as authentic Speaker of the House, an order to stop Oko-Jumbo from parading himself as Speaker, voiding of all actions taken by Oko-Jumbo amongst others.

As you may the Appeal Court yesterday, ordered both parties to maintain status quo and adjourned the matter for hearing. Since then, both factions have been interpreting the ruling in their favour.
