The Action Peoples Party (APP) has commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for initiating preparations for the state’s local government elections.
RSIEC Chairman, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, in a letter addressed to political party leaders, traditional rulers, security agencies, and other stakeholders, invited them to a general meeting on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The meeting, scheduled to take place at the RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt, will include the unveiling of the election timetable and guidelines.
Reacting to the development, APP National Chairman, Barr. Uche Nnadi, welcomed RSIEC’s decision and expressed confidence in his party’s electoral prospects. He highlighted that APP previously controlled 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats in the state and is optimistic about securing all 23 in the upcoming polls. Nnadi also urged party members and residents to rally behind the APP and Governor Fubara’s administration.
